Tanya Cohen
Director of The Janice Center; piano, flute, clarinet, saxophone, ballet, lyrical, hip hop, Music Together and yoga.
The owner and operator of The Music Studio in Jeffersonville from 1994-2008. Tanya began taking piccolo lessons at nine years old and then followed with flute, clarinet saxophone and piano. She began performing at 10 years old in numerous groups including The Callicoon Center Band, Livingston Manor Band, Sullivan Symphonic Band, Orange County Orchestra and Northeast Music Festival and continued through her high school years.
She obtained her degree in music performance at Kutztown University where she performed in musical groups as well as solos. She also studied and performed overseas in Italy.
In 1994, Tanya opened The Music Studio. She is a member of NYSSMA and Piano Guild. She is also active in theater with credits in The Lamb, Glass Menagerie, A Shayna Maidel and Fiddler on the Roof. Tanya is also the only licensed Music Together instructor in Sullivan County. She took over the Hip Hop program at The Janice Center in 2010 and within a year grew the participation level from 12 to 30. She has taken Hip Hop workshops in NYC and tirelessly researches and choreographs new moves and routines.
The Janice Center fulfills a lifelong dream of Tanya's as well as her late mother Janice for whom the Center is named.

Matthew Albeck
NGuitar/Piano
Matt began studying guitar at age 11 and started his first band at age 13. He studied and performed music throughout high school and college, where he studied pedagogy and began teaching music lessons.
After college, his band, Daily Supplement toured the tri-state area on the jamband circuit. Next, Matthew moved to NYC to study Jazz Performance at the Aaron Copeland School of Music.
After estblishing himself as a unique guitarist on the Brooklyn music scene, Matthew moved to The Catskills and founded Kenoza Lake Music. He has performed with Thurman Barker, Hal Galper, Nate Zaur, Tony Marino,, yler Dempsey and Morgan Hoffman.
He leads his own Jazz Band group, The Matthew Albeck trio.on from Manhattanville College and teaches music in the Liberty Central School District. He also plays for St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Narrowsburg and Liberty FPC.
